The clothing I wanted didn't exist. So I started making it. Something simple enough to wear every day, and true enough to matter.
I remember standing in a checkout line once. The woman in front of me was talking to the woman behind her. She was halfway through a sentence when she noticed my shirt.
She stopped. Looked at it again.
“Well, isn't that the truth.”
